GVM Vehicle Upgrades
Frequently Asked
Questions
What would you like to know?
Can the GVM Upgrades vehicles be registered anywhere in Australia?
Yes. All of our conversions have a federal certification and can be registered in all states and territories of Australia. Please contact us for the procedure relating to your state.
Can I get a suspension lift in conjunction with the GVM Upgrade?
The GVM Upgrades suspension system already provides a suspension lift between 50mm and 100mm above standard – depending on the model. It is recommended that this is not increased further as vehicle stability and performance may be compromised.
Does the GVM Upgrades conversion offer better off-road performance?
Our conversion is all about improving the load-carrying performance of the vehicle while still retaining a vehicle that can be used off-road. Generally speaking, our converted vehicles can be taken to any location where you would take s standard 4×4 vehicles – considering good driving technique and selection of suitable tyre pressures. In certain terrain conditions, our vehicles are less likely than the standard vehicle to become bogged due to a ‘flotation effect’ of the non-driven axle.
However, our converted vehicles are unlikely to offer a broad-based improvement in off-road performance over the standard donor vehicle. If you are looking solely for improved off-road performance, we might advise that you spend your money on improving the off-road performance of the vehicle in its standard configuration.
Will the 6-wheeler conversion increase the vehicle turning circle?
Yes – the turning circle is increased slightly over the standard vehicle.
How long does it take to convert my vehicle?
Our conversions typically take 5 to 8 working days to complete.
